I'm Going! Now What?
Congratulations! Now that you've applied and been accepted to LINC 2012, its time to start the next step. Here are some resources to help you get ready for the summer. We encourage all participants to build a ministry team. A ministry team is a group that commits to faithfully pray and support you financially while you are at LINC. Below, you will find resources and a tutorial on how to go about building a ministry team. We have also compiled a list of frequently asked questions that have helped prepare students for LINC.
Ministry Team Development
A Biblical Perspective
Building a ministry team is not about begging for money, it is about providing for people's need to give and them providing you the ability to serve God. Those who choose to partner with you through prayer and financial support are co-laborers with you and reap the benefits of your labor. This perspective is demonstrated in the following verses:
"Not that I seek the gift itself, but I seek for the profit which increases to your account." Philippians 4:17
"Therefore we ought to support such men, so that we may be fellow workers with the truth." 3 John 1:8
This is why we call it Ministry Team Development rather than just "support raising". You are building a team to do your ministry, and just like with a sports team, when one player scores the whole team scores. When you are asking people to team up with you you are asking them to make an investment for eternity that cannot be taken away from them (Luke 12:33).

It will take you through the whole process from name generation to prayer letters and also provides some example documents you can work from. If you have questions about MTD then talk to a staff member at your church; they have likely gone through the support raising process themselves. If you can't get your questions answered from them then feel free to send an email to info@summerlinc.com with any questions you may have.
