What is the main focus on the LINC program?
The main focus of LINC is to train Christians to be Laborers that will impact nations for Jesus Christ. To accomplish this we offer two main tracts. The first trains each participant to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. Those who come to LINC will learn how being a disciple of Christ affects their relationships and personal disciplines, how to serve the local church, and how to represent Jesus and His kingdom values in the market place. The second trains those who are disciples of Christ to be laborers who makes disciples, while continuing to shine in the marketplace and the relationships you have for Christ. -
What is a typical week like?
Each day begins at 7am with corporate prayer with the others at LINC. Of course, if your job starts before 7am you will miss prayer with the team. After prayer and breakfast you will head to your job. If you do not have a job, then your job will be to find a job. After work you will join the rest of the LINC team for dinner. Each night there is an outreach or training event planned. Last year the schedule want as follows:- Monday - evangelism training and outreach to your neighbors.
- Tuesday - seminars for the two tracts, 1) being a disciple or 2) making disciples.
- Wednesday - extended time with the Lord.
- Thursday - worship and guest pastor will speak to the large group and friends you have invited to learn with you. This teaching will reinforce earlier teachings.
- Friday - social activity planned by the local church.
- Saturday - In the morning you will meet with your small group for accountability, goal setting, and prayer. In the afternoon there will be a large LINC activity for you to invite co-workers or new friends to.
- Sunday - Your "Sabbath" will typically be Saturday evening to Sunday supper with you attending one of the local churches LINC will be working with for the summer. After supper on Sunday there will be worship, testimonies and teaching on making commitments and introducing the theme for the week. After the teaching you will be with your small group for discussion, application and accountability for the rest of the time. For the sake of respecting others and being fresh to represent Christ to your employer and fellow workers, bedtime is no later than midnight

What kind of service project and outreach will we be doing?
We will be serving the local Great Commission Churches here in Columbia so we want to be willing to do whatever they want us to do to bless the Lord, the community around them and the body of Christ. This will include, but not limited to:- Initiative evangelism (meeting strangers and engaging them in spiritual conversations),
- Invitational evangelism (planning or knowing of events to invite your fellow workers and new friends to so they meet others in the body of Christ or to hear the gospel)
- Invading evangelism- taking the initiative to go to where people are and make a difference by your character and compassion. Developing a servant's heart also means that at times we will be getting dirty for the sake of Christ by picking up trash, cleaning out gutters or serving food, just to name a few activities we may be doing.

What does the money I pay go to?
Most of the money goes toward your housing and food. The rest of it goes to project expenses and training materials for the participants. -
How will I pay for it?
Participants are encouraged to raise support to pay for the project. You should also easily be able to cover your costs and have money left over from the summer job you get. A deposit will be required up front and then payments will be made during the summer. If you choose not to raise support we still ask that you still raise up a prayer team to pray for you and LINC. Since the LINC price includes food and housing we ask that your first pay checks go toward your LINC bill. After the cost of LINC is paid we encourage you to be wise and save so you will have money for the fall when you return to school. -
When are payments due? Is it all due upfront?
Work and having a Christian work ethic is vital to being a disciple of Christ and making disciples for Christ. Jesus spent most of his life in the marketplace as opposed to "full time ministry". Therefore, we expect all participants to work a full time job or to work full time finding a job. With that said, whatever you and your parents work out we will work with you. Also, since the project will be in an area where we have contacts we will give you job leads. We cannot promise jobs but you will have many opportunities. For those who are looking for jobs there will be meetings each morning that will teach you how to prepare yourself and present yourself well before your future employer. If you follow the advice given to you then your chances of getting a job will be very good. -
Are participants expected to work a full-time job or is part-time & volunteer work OK?
Participants are encouraged to raise support both to support them financially and to include others in what God is doing in and through them. Don't worry if you are new to the idea of building a ministry team; we will provide you with resources and training to help you through the process.

Can I take summer classes?
Yes, if you can pay for LINC and take a class during the summer session that is fine. For the sake of preparing for the future you may want to find a part-time job but that is up to you. You will be expected to practice good time management skills so that your study is done during the day, like a job, so you are available for the evening sessions and evangelism. -
Can I intern? If so, how?
If you desire to intern you need to speak with your pastor before December 15th. -
Can I leave for a weekend or even a week?
For the sake of focus we ask all participants to commit to being at LINC for the entire summer. However, participants are allowed to attend family events, weddings, and such given permission from the director. Please just let us know at or before the beginning of the summer so we can plan accordingly. -
Can I come for half the summer?
Sorry, for the sake of keeping the summer focused we are requiring all participants to come for the entire summer. -
Do I already have to know how to share my faith?
You do not have to know how to share your faith to be a part of LINC. A key aspect of being and making disciples is being able to confidently and courageously communicate the gospel. There are many ways to do this and you will be given many opportunities to trust God in evangelism as you are trained to do this.
